Lithium-Ion Power Tools
Just as cordless power tools have revolutionised working on projects because of their portablility, lithium-ion tools have taken this revolution one step further. At present, cordless tools are prized for their mobility and because they avoid the health and safety hazards associated with working with corded tools. However, one major disadvantage of using cordless tools is that the batteries often fail to hold their charge long enough to complete a complex or long lasting task. This can be problematic when working where there is no direct power supply. Enter lithium-ion batteries.

The recent launch of high voltage, lithium-ion battery technology opens a new realm of possibilities for corded users, making it possible for them to eliminate some cords and increase productivity on the jobsite.
Lithium-ion Does Not Mean More Power but their primary advantage is that for a given voltage they are smaller in size and weigh less than nickel cadium (NiCd) and nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) batteries, working out at about 50% lighter in weight. They are therefore more user friendly
They have no memory effect so can be recharged at any time.
On average they have twice the life of a conventional battery.
They are environmentally friendly as they do not contain any poisonous material.
